CHLORINATION

Microorganisms can be found in water that originates from rivers, lakes and groundwater.

While not all microorganisms are harmful when consumed there are some that can cause diseases and serious illness in humans.

These are called pathogens. Pathogens that are present in water can be transmitted through consumption of this water, causing waterborne disease in those who have consumed it.

In order to combat waterborne diseases, different disinfection methods are used to inactivate the pathogens.

Along with other water treatment processes chlorination creates water that is safe for public consumption and is one of the most common methods used to disinfect water.

This method was first used over a century ago, and is still used today. It is a chemical disinfection method that uses various types of chlorine or chlorine-containing substances for the oxidation and disinfection of what will be the potable water source.

At Dragon Commissioning  we are able to chlorinate any size external and internal water main.
